Oct 19-26 Weekly Challenge- Altered Photo

Altered Photo Challenge

Ever have just the right photo but the colors well…did not go with any cute paper you picked out? This has happened to me how many time I can’t count. We have a very maroon looking couch. Love my couch, however if you were to be photographed by it or on it…it’s hard to find fun papers to go.

So my solution: I alter the photo’s to either black and white or sepia.

Leading into my challenge for the week:
Create a layout where your photo’s are altered to a different finish.

(I know at some photo finishers even options with even setting a certain color hue to your pics, like blue, green, pink ect….)

Crop Addict October Monthly Challenge

My challenge to you this month is all about collages!

I have found using collages are an easy and fast way to scrapping my photos!
You can download the templates from Scrapbooks ETC or most photo finishers even have the option to create collages, just pick the photos and they arrange them for me, all I have to do is just hit print. Or you can always make your own collage by cropping photos to fit.

So get your creative juices flowing, I look forward to seeing your layouts!

(My example:an 8 x 10 collage was created by my photo finisher’s program, layout created using Moxxie’s Halloween Collection)

And if you are really on the ball, do some Spring Cleaning and clean out and reorganize your scrap stash while you’re at it!

In my sample, I took long strips of coordinating pieces of scrap paper and wove them together to create a decorative photo mat.

So for this challenge I want you to use the phrase “April Showers Brings May Flowers” as your inspiration and use a minimum of 20 flowers on your layout.

In my example, I stamped a cascade of flourishes down my page and used a variety of different colored paper flowers.

Crop Addict is currently seeking creative, enthusiastic, fun, out of the box, daring, individuals with a variety of scrapbooking styles to be a part of our 2009/2010 Design Team.

Design Team Call is open to all scrappers. International entries are welcome; international winners must pay their own shipping.

To be considered for the Crop Addict Design Team submission guidelines must be followed. All submissions must be received by June 22nd, 2009 at midnight PST. Those selected will be contacted and announced on the Crop Addict website by July 1st, 2009.

Submission Guidelines:
1) Upload 3 lo's and 1 project to your Crop Addict member gallery that best represent your scrapbooking style. Uploading additional lo's and projects is ok! Submissions must be your own creation and design. Submissions must be new to the Crop Addict gallery. Submissions from other galleries are acceptable.

2) Include your supply list for each lo and project and the date your lo and/or project was created.

3) Send an e-mail titled "Design Team Entry" to debbie@cropaddict.com with your name, CA (Crop Addict) username and a link to your member gallery here at Crop Addict. Please cc your email to our DT Coordinator at mskessler3738@charter.net

Include a link to the three lo's and 1 project gallery images that best represents your work.

Please include the following information in the email to Debbie and Michon: (Do not send attachments as your email will not be opened, type the information into the body of your email.)

a) Name and address.
b) Email Address and best number to reach you during the day.
c) Who are you - tell us about yourself, your family, hobbies, etc.
d) List all current design teams (manufacturer, store and/or kit clubs), their urls and the DT requirements of each DT. No worries if you aren't on any design teams - there is plenty of undiscovered talent.
e) If you are teaching at a LSS, please provide the store name, address and phone number.
f) Links to your online galleries (on other sites).
g) A link to your blog (if you have one).
h) Why do you want to be part of the Crop Addict DT?
i) Do you participate on online mbs? If so, which ones? What is your screen name? Submissions that do not follow the guidelines above may not be considered. Design Team committment is from July 1, 2009 - January 31, 2010.

Design Team Requirements Monthly Kit
1) Submit 3 layouts and 1 project per month or 4 layouts for each monthly kit.
2) If requested, submit complete instructions on how to complete lo's or project if their lo's and/or project is selected to be featured in the Crop Addict newsletter.
3) Participate in the Crop Addict forums (message board) on a regular basis to keep our friendly community active.
4) Create a weekly discussion topic.
5) Create monthly and weekly DT Challenges when you are the featured DT of the month.
6) Participate in one online crop during term.
7) Develop and post a technique for our Totally Technique forum once a month. Actively promote and advertise Crop Addict. DT will be provided with signature blinkie for posting on Crop Addict and other mb's where permitted.

Now that spring is here with all those beautiful rainbows after the rain fall... Your layout challenge this week, is to use as much or as little as you want to of polka dot patterned paper then include puddles...and a rainbow.

The puddles can be actual pictures of puddles OR make a puddle on your layout OR maybe you have a muddy puddle poem you've been dying to use.... Then add a rainbow of color (using ie: flowers, brads, ribbons, etc.). Enjoy the rain and try not to get your feet wet in all those puddles.

We all have things we do on a regular basis, even things we don't realize we do daily. It can be you putting on your make-up - to - every 2-hour feedings - to - something your child does in their daily routine. What is the one thing you haven't really noticed you (or your child) does every day and has become a routine.

Mine: Every morning, no matter Rainee gets up, comes downstairs... and the first thing she wants to do is go give Champ a good morning hug... and he in return, he gives her his good morning licks and kisses. It's adorable. I love seeing her get all excited when he gives her those kisses.... it's a good morning routine, and I wouldn't want to change it. What's yours?

Our featured DT for March is Natasha. Her challenge to you this month is called Luck of the Irish.

Since March is the month for everything Irish, I thought we could celebrate by going Green in more ways than one.

1) Use something from around the house that might not be a "scrapping" product and incorporate it into your LO. Whether it's cardboard, a ticket stub, etc. recycle that object by using it on your layout. I used an old button in my layout sample.

2) And to top off your layout, you must use at least 7 items that are the color green.

3 Days of Scrapbook Goodness - CHA Winter 2009

It was that time again, CHA Winter. Time to head to Anaheim to buy the latest and greatest scrapbook goodies.
To sum it up: The show was significantly smaller than past Winter CHAs. The show was about the size of CHA Summer which is considered tiny.
Attendance was low, no crowds in the booths exception during certain times and the crowds were smaller. No spilling out the sides of the booths during prize drawings or throngs of people. Make N Take lines were small with the exception of the Product Performers booth (Teresa Collins chipboard album) so this was about 5 - 6 people deep.

The only new innovative item was Piggy Tales Flower Press. A cute 4x4 (not sure about the exact dimensions, will have to measure. No radically different themes, treatments or tools. But some cute papers and stuff and I bought a lot so expect to see plenty in the Crop Addict store.
